I was asked to make a special guest Klezmer Mixtape for Hackney's NTS Radio where I explore some of my favourite source recordings from the archives and musical mentors. This is long overdue : My first solo musical offering. Life has many twists and turns, and the time has come to finally start sharing my sounds with you all in an incremental and gentle way. My creative journey until now has been rich and the connections I have made and collaborations I encountered thus far have all led me to this point.
'In Eynem' means 'united' in Yiddish; a word which felt apt for the present time. The importance of interconnectivity and community is what grounds and centres the music in this release. In Eynem is a portal, a way to enter into my musical world. A kind of introduction. The textures, sounds and traditional music I work with have surrounded me for many years and I is nice to share this. Recording straight up as a live performance at Laylow in W10, London whilst supporting one of my favourite bands HEJIRA on their residency there. A moment in time captured by serendipity & foresight.
