I have been commissioned as part of Margate NOW Festival 2021. This is a great opportunity for me to use my phonography skills to experiment with some of my field recording equipment to collect sounds from the Sunken Gardens in Westgate on Sea.
ABOUT BOUGH TALK: I’ll ? making an immersive soundscape informed by sounds collected from the garden in the coming weeks and adding in other resonant textures. Can't wait to get inside the sounds of the tress and capturing the sound world of this subtle and historical location.
Launching as Sunken Ecologies in September, the programme curated by Anna Colin takes on the human-made natural environment and centres on the Sunken Garden, a public park in the Westbrook area of Margate, designed and landscaped in the 1930’s.
Margate NOW 2021: Sunken Ecologies is guest curated by Anna Colin and is only made possible thanks to public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, Kent County Council, and support from Interreg Experience and Visit Kent.
