CAMPAIGN to save Margate Synagogue is SUCCESSFUL!!!

Thanks to an amazing campaign led by Kate Gillespie, Jan Ryan, Lucy Lyons and myself, plus immense support from the Margate community, shops & businesses, local and national press and an emergency high profile crowdfunding campaign, we were able to save the old Margate Synagogue from auction, where it would likely be developed into flats or become a private home.

At the last minute an anonymous benefactor stepped in to buy the building so that it can be turned into an arts space for the local community and we are now raising funds to develop the building and convert it into the Cliftonville Cultural Space.

I've finally built my own studio down in Margate, fully treated with acoustic panelling (that I made myself - and it's pink!) and it's sounding great. This has a been a long time coming. It is a privilege to have created such a personalised and sacred space to work in. As a woman working in the music industry it is also an empowering step in steering my own creative ship and developing my work and career,

I'm available for remote recording sessions on cello and voice, string arranging, remixes, productions and commissions. Get in touch if you'd like to collaborate with or hire me! Thanks, F x

"Breathing new life into ancient Sephardi songs...
...Yja, the musical brainchild of vocalist Ana Silvera and cellist  Francesca Ter Berg, is hoping to change that and bring an eclectic London flavour to a scene that has been dominated by New York and Tel Aviv. The group recently released their first single, La Serena, which mixes Ana’s sweet plaintive singing with processed voices and an undercurrent of electronic synth."
